Our History and Mission
BRIGHTON OUR WORLD’S MISSION IS TO BRING INSPIRATION AND OPPORTUNITY TO EVERY CHILD THROUGH CHILDREN IMPACTING CHILDREN
Our vision is to empower children to make a positive impact on the world, starting from an early age. We believe that compassion leads to change and that compassionate children today lead to community leaders tomorrow.
Founded in 2009 by Brandi Watterson, our organization came about when Brandi bought a preschool center called Brighton Academy to turn it into a nonprofit charter preschool. She wanted to instill the importance of giving back in her three daughters with the help of a charter school, but she found it difficult to find opportunities. Thus, Brighton Our World was born to provide a nonprofit preschool to the community.
Brighton Our World focuses on offering scholarships for families in need of childcare, offering curriculum for schools in impoverished areas, and teaching children the value of hard work and giving back through our multiple initiatives. Through all of our programs, we want to change the lives of children and their families.
We’re proud to say that our Family Serve Days and various initiatives bring communities together while meeting the needs of underserved members of our community.
